Loved the Politico article. I think I will use it in my English 12 class which is themed around this very issue: Equity and Negotiating
Work and College at KCC. It raises many of the issues that my students have been writing about in this course this past Spring.
Their writing opened up their lives to me dramatically and taught me a great deal! The interface between instruction at the individual level
of the professor and policy at state and federal levels is important to examine for us at KCC and at CUNY. At the same time, I felt this
connection was important for students to grasp: their citizenships and roles in policy making matter!
